PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A clerk in the Providence Police Department’s records bureau is accused of illegally providing accident reports to a local chiropractor.
Chief Hugh T. Clements Jr. said Rosmery Garcia, 36, of 10 Community Drive, Cranston, was arrested Wednesday night on felony charges of access to a computer for fraudulent purposes and wrongful conversion by municipal employees. She was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the Providence Public Safety Complex and suspended without pay from her $43,000 job.
The police intelligence bureau had been investigating Garcia for several months on information that she was delivering stacks of accident reports to Dr. Eugene Kramer at the New England Spine and Disc Center on 358 Broadway, in exchange for cash for herself, Clements said.
